Mondrian

Mondrian famously once said ‘Art is the path to being spiritual’ and he radically simplified the elements of his paintings to reflect what he saw as the spiritual order underlying the visible world, creating a clear and universal aesthetic language within his canvases. Mondrian has been a Modernist inspiration to many artists and fashion designers in the past.

The Mondrian collection exhibits the infinity of art and the inspiration an artist gives to another. It portrays a new angle of the brand’s spiritual ideology; unity, oneness and feminine wisdom. In this collection, Ece reflects on the feminine wisdom of ‘integration’ at an individual and collective level via themes from Mondrian canvases – she says “each jewel in the Mondrian collection is a roadmap that guides us to the core of life in the maze. Inspired by these works I wanted to turn them into jewels of awareness that brings us back to our inner wisdom”.

Mondrian believed that use of pure primary colours, flatness of forms, and dynamic tension in his canvases would transcend divisions in culture and become a new common language.  The Mondrian collection features squares, triangles and straight lines which are a tribute to Mondrian’s two essential contradicting forces: the positive and the negative, the dynamic and the static, the masculine and the feminine.

The pieces convey a theme of true wisdom. When you consciously weave the individual threads of your life into your unique tapestry, these threads are evaluated, sorted, and spun into a new level of awareness.
